Great service and breakfast was amazing for the price point. Very traditional breakfast with tasty food items. Rooms are definitely on the small side and the thermostat was hard to control in the winter. We were blasted in an alternate fashion with overly hot air and AC : Location is OK, next to a Family Mart. Only drawback I would say is that it's not really on a subway line and you have to walk 10+ minutes to get to Odori.

Beautiful stay in Onsen Ryokan Yuen Sapporo! It was in a good location not too far from Sapporo station. The staff were attentive and warm and can all communicate well in English. It was modern, quiet and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! There is a family mart next door which is really convenient. Overall a really wonderful experience and great hospitality! Looking forward to staying here again next time in Hokkaido 😊

Onsen Ryokan Yuen in Sapporo was an outstanding stay and one of the best value-for-money hotels I’ve experienced in Japan. The staff are truly amazing—warm, attentive, and professional—and there were zero communication issues. Many staff speak English very well, which made everything smooth and stress-free from check-in to check-out. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, especially compared to typical hotels in Kyoto and Tokyo, and they’re beautifully designed with a calm, modern ryokan feel. The on-site amenities are excellent: the onsen is relaxing and well maintained, and there are food and drink options available at certain times right in the hotel. There’s also a FamilyMart conveniently located next door, which is a huge plus. Location-wise, it’s ideal. You’re within a short walking distance of Sapporo Station, making it a perfect base if you plan to stay in Sapporo and do day trips from the station. It feels luxurious without the luxury price tag—honestly, it feels like a premium stay for a fraction of the cost. One extra bonus: the hotel offers luggage forwarding services, which is incredibly convenient if you’re visiting multiple towns in Japan—definitely ask the front desk about it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sapporo.

The most memorable feature of this ryokan is the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. Standing by the window, you are greeted with a beautiful, expansive view of the snow-covered scenery, which feels incredibly peaceful and relaxing, both during the day and at night. Dinner was a real highlight. The crab hot pot was excellent, featuring fresh ingredients and generous portions, allowing us to truly experience an authentic and high-quality crab meal. Breakfast was also very enjoyable, with fresh sashimi served alongside unagi rice, making it a satisfying and well-balanced start to the day. The ryokan is also very family-friendly. The staff were kind and considerate toward children, and the overall environment made traveling with a child feel comfortable and stress-free. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay in Sapporo, offering beautiful views, excellent food, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for travelers looking to relax and enjoy the snowy scenery and local cuisine.

We loved our stay here! The natural spring onsen was was our favorite part of our stay, including the traditional yukata they offer each guest. We also enjoyed their complimentary daily welcome drinks. Two of us booked a Hollywood twin, which had an additional seating space giving us some room to spread out. The front desk team was attentive and helpful if we needed anything. The location is convenient to several methods of public transit but close enough to the city center to walk.
