26/2/6 It is a resort class facility, and the onsen has a great view of the bay and Kagoshima city across and one of the pool has soupy mineral saturated water supposed to be good for your health, really a great place to relax after visiting the various sites even to get a nice dinner since ferry service is 24/7 can spend a whole day and into the evening on Sakurajima with no worries for "the last train or ferry" back 🤙🏻

I highly recommend visiting Magma Onsen. In March 2025 you can enter for 390円, or 300円 if you have the CUTE transport pass. It is affordable but there are a few different baths, all indoors: two spacious hot baths of which one has a gentle denkiburo, a sauna, and a cold bath. The showers provide shampoo and body wash. There is a shelf for towels within the onsen area. In the changeroom there are shelves and baskets for your bags and clothes, as well as small lockers for valuables, 100円 or 200円, non-returnable. It felt really nice after exploring Sakurajima all day!

Onsen close to the ferry terminal, friendly staff also towards foreigners. The water has a nice not too hot temperature with an amazing view over the water. The electric bath in the right pool is amazing to relax your back. The facility does look a little worse for wear with some rust and missing tiles but highly recommend after a day of visiting the vulcano.

A 5-7 minutes walk from the ferry pier. A natural volcanic publc hot sping bath . A 90 yen discount for those with a Cute bus pass. Prepare one or two 100 yen coin for the locker, if one wants to safely keep the valuables. There are basically three pools inside. Two hot and one cold. Not a big onsen bath. It's a nice experience to soak in the bath, and enjoying sea view through the big glass window.

I've traveled all over Japan and I go to the public bath every day. This one is exceptional. Tiled vaulted space with natural light. Floor to ceiling windows, magnificent view of the bay with ferries and fishing boats and Kagoshima on the far shore. Hot tub, hotter tub, cold tub, sauna. Shampoo, body wash, bar soap. Towel for 200 yen if you don't bring your own. Huge tatami area for relaxation outside. No jets that I could see, which is just the way I like it. I spent 2 hours here and I'd give it six stars if I could.
