Staying at Tamao Kyoto was an absolute highlight of our trip. The space was incredibly cosy, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel special. Every detail felt carefully considered, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. We booked it during autumn and could see some red leaves from our window. The hosts were kind and friendly. Their genuine hospitality made our stay feel effortless and comfortable. We loved our time here and would return in a heartbeat. It’s a wonderful place to relax and feel at home. We highly recommend Tamao Kyoto to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

Perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing stay. 📍Room The private bathhouse was especially relaxing, and the amenities, all themed around tea fragrances, showed a great sense of taste and detail. From the window, we could see beautiful red leaves🍁 📍Service The staff at Tamao were incredibly welcoming. When we asked for local recommendations, they thoughtfully suggested spots that matched what we were looking for. We ended up having our favorite experience in Kyoto thanks to them. Tamao is beautifully designed and the service is kind and personal. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by name, and offered some hot tea as we were checked in. The room was beautiful, a perfect blend of traditional Japanese design and modern western convenience. The smell of the wood throughout the two story room instantly had us feeling warm and comfortable and the large bath was the perfect way to relax. We had so many things planned during our trip to Kyoto, but we didn’t want to leave the room.

Very well run cozy place to stay in Kyoto! The gentleman that checked me in was very sincere, helpful, friendly and spoke very good English! The two ladies that prepares breakfast also spoke very good English and provided excellent service. The Amazake yogurt provided at a simple breakfast is very nice with homemade jam & toast!

My stay at Tamao was one of the most luxurious stays I've had as of late, based on the warm hospitality, thoughtfully prepared breakfast each morning, the extremely cozy and spotless rooms, and the central location within Kyoto. You can tell how much attention to detail goes in. Thank you so much for making my days in Kyoto so memorable, I loved coming "home" each night!
