I went for a quick relaxation at night. I arrived at 11:30pm. The manager helped me understand what to do then I almost walked into the ladies side whoops. When I got in at 11:45pm there were about 5 other men there. The water was very hot which I liked and the size of the onsen was small. I would say it could fit 8 people.

A little pricey for the size but I loved the cold tub/barrel.

Underground urban sento with the friendliest staff. No dedicated cold bath, just a galvanized tub which adds to the charm. Don't forget to buy their souvenir keychain!

This is my sixth trip to Ikebukuro and delighted to find finally a sento only 700m away from my ryokan. A traditional bathhouse, leave your shoes in the locker at the entry, bring in the locker chit, pay Yen 550, give your shoe locker chit and you'll be given a locker key for the ladies section where you disrobe, put away your clothes. You bring your own towel. Soap, shampoo and abundant hot water is supplied. Scrub clean and thoroughly before dipping into the spacious searing hot spa. It is just very delicious. I went on a Saturday night at 8.30pm and it was surprisingly very quiet. I shared the spa with only two other women, it was fantastic. Guess I'll be heading here regularly during my stay in the area.

Great sento. Costs 520 yen. The woman at the counter was lovely and polite. A nice man spoke to me in the changing rooms and was surprised and happy that a tourist had made it to his local sento. The baths are super hot. It wasn't busy at all and was really quiet. Wide selection of cold drinks available after. Make sure to sign the guestbook and chill out on the sofas in the reception area after!
