This is a very cosy onsen where locals go after work and with families. There are several couple with young kids. I love the outdoor onsen and many pools to choose from. After onsen, you can enjoy food at the restaurant. The downside is that the staff don't speak English and everything is in Japanese. It is also inaccessible by public transport and only by car/taxi. The entrance is very affordable at 800 yen per pax. You can order onsen plus dinner set at 1400 yen.

Great experience both times, with fabulous indoor and outdoor onsens! No English signs but staff were very helpful on my first entry and explained the basics, then got to enjoy the experience! Very recommended for tourists or anyone wanting to enjoy an onsen experience.

Nice onsen where there are inside and outside baths. There are some chairs (though plastic ones) where you can sit outside for sunbathing. A little bit far from Nagano station but walkable through small alleys to discover the neighborhood.

Semi foreigner-friendly, practically no english signs and no staff that can speak english. However, after figuring out the service.... the bath area is very comfortable. NB: BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL or pay 240yen for towel service. The sitting shower area is a bit further in after the change room. It is in the same area as the indoor baths. Don't waste your time indoors if there is nice weather. The food is filling but nothing very special.
